To install a new Aarcomm system, you’ll need to mount your receiver and connect it to your machine.
- Drill holes to mount the receiver and secure it in place. To prolong the life of the receiver, we recommend you mount it inside the cab or a cabinet that's protected from the elements.
- Plug the cinch connector into the receiver and tighten it securely.
- Plug the other end of the harness into the appropriate connector in the control box. If you’re using a blunt cut harness, you must wire it to the corresponding circuits in the control box to ensure functionality.
- Attach the antenna connector to the receiver and mount the antenna on the truck. Ensure the antenna has a clear line of sight.
- If you’re using a NUB antenna, you’ll only need to attach the antenna to the receiver. Mounting on the machine isn’t necessary.
- Use zip ties and cable clamps to tidy up and secure any loose wiring. Make sure you have some slack in the wiring path and that any zip ties are not too tight to avoid pinching the wires.
- Power on the remote (HHT, BPT-L) and your machine to check that there is a link between the remote and the receiver. The receiver LED changes from white to green. The green LED light on the remote turns solid green.
The remote system kit you’ve received should already come with the devices matched. If they’re not, refer to the matching instructions (HHT, BPT-L, WKS).
The remote and receiver can be in three possible states:
- Unmatched: The two devices can't communicate with each other. They need to be matched.
- Matched: The two devices are set up to communicate with each other. This is the factory default for a system kit and the system is ready to use. This is accomplished through the matching instructions.
- Linked: The system is turned on and the two devices are actively communicating with each other and controlling the machine that the receiver is connected to.
